Submit Cremated Ashes to Our Laboratory
In general, creating a memorial diamond up to 0.30 carats requires 1/3 cup (5 1/3 tbsp) or about 2 ounces (50 grams) of ashes from your loved one. When your order is confirmed, please ensure that the ashes are packed in a suitable container that is tightly sealed (e.g., a zip-lock bag, or a tupperware) and sent to the address provided. Once our lab receives the ashes, the experts will perform several processes to purify the ashes.
Carbon Extraction
In the EverDear™ laboratory, carbon is extracted from the cremated ashes to create a memorial diamond. The ashes must be purified to a high level to meet the jewelry standards. All the ashes received by EverDear™ are heated in a vacuum and purified through various refining processes. Depending on the desired color for the memorial diamond created, the degree of processing varies.
Due to the fact that the ashes contain nitrogen, memorial diamonds created from ashes are naturally yellow. After the nitrogen is removed, the memorial diamond will be blue because of the presence of boron. To create high clarity colorless memorial diamonds, EverDear™ will completely purify the ashes up to 99.99%. As the amount of trace elements in the ashes of each person is different, the results are always unique.
HPHT Process
To create memorial diamonds from ashes or hair, High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT) processing is one of the most efficient methods. Natural diamonds are formed over billions of years when carbon is exposed to extremely high pressure and high temperature underground. HPHT devices are used to simulate this natural environment and can shorten the whole procedure to only a few months.
The highly-purified carbon from ashes is melted in the interior of the HPHT device which is heated to over 2000°C. Then, the melted carbon is transported into a tiny diamond seed, which begins to grow like a shining star and, eventually, forms a genuine raw diamond.

The diamond can be created out of the hair of one or multiple people, or even be made from your pet’s fur.
Human hair contains about 45% of Carbon which can be used to create diamonds. To grow a memorial diamond in the laboratory, only a small amount of hair is needed.You can use a jar or a sealed box to contain the hair and send it to our headquarters for diamond production. After the laboratory has received your hair, our experts will analyze components of the hair and extract the carbon within. The carbon from the hair sample will then be put under a high-pressure high-temperature environment to form into a diamond.
