Expanding for Tomorrow: Our State-of-the-Art Facilities
To accommodate our growing community of families worldwide and to integrate the latest advancements in HPHT technology, our operational footprint has successfully expanded.
Historically, our core laboratory and administrative hubs operated out of North Hollywood and Valley Village, California, with additional supporting facilities on the US East Coast. To create a more spacious, high-capacity, and technically advanced environment, we officially inaugurated our brand-new corporate office and production laboratory in Santa Clarita, California, in June 2025.
Following this milestone, our Valley Village location has been fully integrated into the new Santa Clarita campus. Today, our advanced production and main customer-care operations thrive in Santa Clarita, while our legacy facilities in Hollywood and New York State continue to proudly serve as vital centers for regional customer reception and specialized production phases.
Microscopic Precision in Carbon Purification
Our dedicated carbon extraction workspace is equipped with high-precision analytical scales, Muffle Furnace, and microscopes. Because every set of ashes or hair samples carries a unique biological profile, our scientists use microscopic analysis to study the raw material’s specific properties from the very start.
Following the initial purification, the extracted carbon must be structurally converted into crystalline graphite flakes; the microscope allows us to verify its microscopic morphology to ensure a flawless transition. Meanwhile, our laboratory ovens serve dual purposes: they dry the newly isolated carbon and use thermal treatments to eliminate trace impurities. Prior to diamond growth, the carbon powder undergoes a final, meticulous bake to remove every trace of moisture, preventing atmospheric interference and ensuring absolute elemental purity.
Our BARS 300 Crystallization Apparatus
This is the heart of our technological innovation: the BARS 300 High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT) diamond growth press. Fully designed, engineered, and 100% owned by EverDear's in-house scientific team, this proprietary hydraulic press offers vastly superior thermal and pressure stability compared to off-the-shelf commercial alternatives, resulting in exceptional diamond clarity and fewer impurities.
Inside the press, our custom-engineered HP (High-Pressure) synthesis capsule has been optimized through our research projects for ideal pressure distribution, allowing the core to safely reach ultra-high temperatures and pressures. This extreme environment enables us to maximize the efficiency of the crystallization process, making our operations significantly more energy-efficient, eco-friendly, and ultimately more affordable.

How do we make diamonds from ashes?
1 Ashes and Hair Refinement Process
Carbon Extraction
Cremation diamonds are made from carbon extracted from cremation ashes or hair. The carbon in these remains must be purified to an extremely high level.
At EverDear’s laboratory, we realize that this is one of the most crucial steps to create a cremation diamond from ashes or hair. It is at this stage of the transformation process, the color of the diamond is decided. The level to which the cremation diamond is processed defines the color. A cremation diamond naturally has a yellow hue due to the presence of nitrogen within hair and cremation ashes. After being purified of nitrogen, the cremation diamond takes on a bluish hue due to the presence of boron. Ashes that have been completely purified result in colorless diamonds and exude the aura of purity.
All ashes that EverDear receives are processed by heat in a vacuum environment, and are purified through various refinement processes depending on the desired color. The carbon content in everyone’s hair or ashes is different, so the results are unique for each.
2 HPHT Growth Process
Diamond Crystallization
Natural diamonds are formed underground when the element carbon is subjected to both extreme amounts of pressure and excessively high temperatures. A High Pressure, High Temperature (HPHT) press is used to artificially simulate the natural environment in which carbon is transformed into a diamond. In this case, the carbon from ashes is transformed into a beautiful cremation diamond.
To create the cremation diamond, a tiny diamond seed is prepared and placed at the bottom of the press’ inner core cube. The interior of the press is heated to over 3000-5000°F, melting a catalyst metal. The molten catalyst metal dissolves the high-purity, personal carbon source, which is then transported to the small diamond seed and crystalized. A cremation diamond is born and starts to grow like a shining star.
3 Diamond Polishing Process
Cutting & Polishing
Once a cremation diamond is created, it is raw and uncut, showing none of its true beauty and splendor, yet. To coax out its true potential, our expert artisans polish the cremation diamonds. First, the cremation diamond undergoes “crosswork,” in which the main facets are placed on the diamond. This ensures maximum weight, clarity, and the best angles for the specific diamond shape. Next, the diamond’s main facets are smoothed, also known as polishing. Last, the final facets are polished onto the diamond. The facets added are the stars, top and bottom halves also known as upper and lower girdle facets. This process has largely stayed the same for hundreds of years. However, our artisans use the latest tools to ensure precision work.
Transparency and precision are the pillars of the EverDear creation process. Because every memorial order represents a unique, deeply personal narrative, we have established an advanced tracking and safety ecosystem that goes far beyond industry standards. From multi-layered Partition IDs and unique QR-code mapping to rigorous two-person cross-checks and AI-driven quality safeguards, discover how our strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) guarantee an unbroken chain of custody and absolute peace of mind throughout this months-long journey.

Every family we serve has unique wishes. Some choose to create a diamond from cremation ashes, others from hair, and many request specialized combinations—such as blending a portion of ashes with hair samples from multiple family members. To seamlessly manage these deeply personal requirements, our system goes much deeper than a standard customer Order ID. The moment your package is received, our advanced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform generates an intricate web of individual Partition IDs and unique QR codes. Every separate material—whether it is raw ashes, distinct bundles of hair, purified carbon powder, rough diamonds, or unmounted jewelry settings—is assigned its own tracking label. This digital footprint ensures that every single component is instantly identifiable and mapped to your exact specifications, making it virtually impossible for materials to be misplaced or confused.
-
Creating a memorial diamond is an intricate journey that spans several months. At any given moment, our dedicated scientists are managing hundreds of custom orders from all over the world, each with its own specific technical demands. To ensure absolute precision across this multi-stage timeline, we operate under a strict Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) forged from decades of collective lab experience. Every single phase—from secure, climate-controlled storage to the high-temperature extraction labs and crystallization presses—requires a formal hand-over. When a batch moves from one step to the next, the exact start and end times are digitally logged, and the technicians responsible are recorded. To eliminate human error, all critical transitions and key verification steps require a mandatory two-person cross-check. This double-authentication is permanently archived in our system, providing an unbroken chain of custody and full retrospective traceability. Furthermore, these data logs allow our management team to continuously analyze lab workflows, identify operational bottlenecks, and optimize the timeline for all families.
-
We believe that safety lies in constant verification. Throughout the creation process, our team continually cross-references every technical step back to the primary source: your original order form and the wishes you have shared with us. To reinforce this, EverDear has built an automated auditing system that checks the lab logs for your order against your documented specifications at each stage. If the system detects even the slightest discrepancy between your stated wishes and the work recorded in the lab, it instantly raises an internal "Red Flag." This immediately halts the specific process and triggers a mandatory manual intervention. Our senior staff will double-check the details and, if necessary, contact you directly to clarify or confirm your wishes. We leave nothing to chance, ensuring your diamond is crafted exactly as you envisioned.
Research & Development
EverDear values research and development (R&D) and recognizes the importance of intellectual property protection. The detailed technical process to turn ashes into diamonds and its applications are strictly safeguarded and maintained in absolute confidentiality.
Why We Require Less Material
Many families wish to keep a portion of their loved one's ashes at home or share them among multiple relatives, making the amount of remains required a deeply sensitive issue. EverDear can successfully craft a memorial diamond with as little as 100 grams of cremation ashes or 2 grams of hair.
This material efficiency is achieved through two core technological advantages:
High-Yield Chemical Extraction
Developed through years of laboratory refinement, our proprietary chemical protocols maximize the recovery rate of usable carbon from the provided biological sample. By minimizing carbon loss during the initial refinement stage, we ensure that a smaller amount of starting material yields a sufficient volume of high-purity carbon needed for diamond growth.
Precision-Engineered HP Capsules
Many companies in our industry rely on standard, commercially available HPHT presses from third-party suppliers. These traditional machines are bulky and highly inefficient; to grow a rough diamond of 6 to 20 mm, they utilize massive growth chambers requiring a outer diameter of 500 mm or 600 mm, which forces the laboratory to pack a large volume of unnecessary carbon into the press. In contrast, our custom-built BARS 300 presses utilize an engineered synthesis capsule with an outer diameter of just 300 mm and a significantly smaller inner core. To grow the exact same 6 to 20 mm rough diamond, our cell design only requires a targeted growth zone of 20 to 30 mm for the carbon powder. This superior pressure transmission and compact containment deliver a much higher structural conversion rate, ensuring that a smaller amount of your loved one's carbon is utilized with maximum efficiency and zero needless waste.
Why Our Technology Lowers Your Cost
Our pricing advantage is built on three verifiable operational pillars:
In-House Production & Equipment Engineering
Early on, we made a strategic decision never to rely on third-party machine suppliers or external outsourcing. EverDear designs, builds, and continuously maintains its own fleet of High-Pressure High-Temperature (HPHT) diamond-growing presses. Because we own the intellectual property and maintain full-spectrum capabilities—from raw carbon purification and catalyst formulation to synthesis block fabrication and final faceting—we have eliminated the steep middleman markups and third-party dependencies that inflate costs elsewhere.
The Physics of Faster, Higher-Yield Growth
Our technical advisors, including a university professor with over 25 years of expertise in high-pressure science, have helped us engineering a proprietary remastered catalyst formula and upgraded synthesis capsules. Our custom presses feature approximately 50% more internal growth volume and operate at superior temperature and pressure stability. This allows our diamonds to grow roughly 30% faster with higher yields and less waste product during polishing. By using less energy and time per carat weight, our operational cost per diamond is drastically reduced.
Global Scale, Longevity, and Cumulative Innovation
With over a decade of dedicated service as EverDear, and rooted in a scientific heritage where our research team began refining diamond synthesis technologies over 20 years ago, we possess a unique structural advantage. As pioneers in the lab-grown diamond field, our technology and machinery fleet are the result of more than two decades of steady, cumulative development. Because our foundational equipment and proprietary techniques were built and optimized gradually over twenty years, we are not burdened by the massive, short-term capital expenditures or high-risk R&D amortizations that traditional start-ups face. Today, our economies of scale are derived not only from the high volume of families we serve annually across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Japan, Brazil, and over 50 countries, but also from twenty years of continuous technological compounding. This long-term financial and technical stability allows us to pass these substantial operational savings directly to our customers.
Quality is an Absolute Constant
A lower price never dictates a lesser diamond. The physical, chemical, and optical properties of an EverDear diamond are identical to those of a natural, mined diamond. Our affordability is a byproduct of efficiency, whereas our quality is the result of near-obsessive control over every physical and chemical variable in our laboratory:
In-House Catalyst Synthesis
To eliminate impurities at the atomic level, we formulate and smelt our proprietary catalyst mixtures in-house using top-tier, digitally controlled furnaces manufactured in Germany. This gives us absolute control over the catalyst’s composition before it ever enters a press.
Total Environmental Stabilization
External fluctuations can easily compromise diamond clarity. To protect our HPHT presses, our laboratory utilizes a dedicated Environmental Control System (ECS) to maintain constant ambient room temperature and humidity. Concurrently, the temperature, flow rate, and pressure of our hydraulic fluids and internal cooling water loops are kept perfectly static.
Meticulous Capsule Component Quality
The zirconium dioxide (ZrO₂) powder used to press our HP synthesis capsules is stringently vetted by our laboratory team. We analyze every single batch to guarantee that particle size, material purity, and trace element profiles remain perfectly uniform and reproducible. Before a cycle begins, every potential contaminant—including atmospheric air and ambient moisture vapor—is scientifically purged from the capsule environment.
By standardizing these microscopic variables, we maximize the repeatability of our experimental conditions. This radical attention to detail ensures that under our precise temperature-and-pressure configurations, every diamond crystal grows flawlessly. As a result, EverDear diamonds consistently achieve clarity grades in the VVS1 to VS1 range—completely eye-clean and pristine even under 10x gemological magnification.
To ensure absolute objectivity, our quality control does not rely solely on our internal validation. Every EverDear memorial diamond can be independently graded and certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI), verifying its clarity, color, and authentic diamond structure through an independent, globally recognized authority. For us, advanced technology is simply the vehicle we use to deliver a flawless, everlasting legacy to your family.
At EverDear, we are on the cutting edge of innovation in the cremation-diamond-from-ashes market. Through our technological innovation, we are able to deliver the highest quality diamonds from the ashes of the dearly departed at the most affordable cost.
In order to deliver on our commitment to quality and affordability, we here at EverDear focus on five main points of quality: carbon refinement, diamond formation, cutting and polishing, the production site, and research and development.
