A set of measurement tools to test diamonds carats

Carat Weight and Color Influence a Diamond’s Price

Carat refers to the diamond weight. One carat equals 200 milligrams. As one of the 4Cs, carat weight is the most significant factor in determining the price of a diamond. As the carat weight increases, the price difference between different color grades increases even more dramatically. Color also has a considerable impact on the value of a diamond. Even the slightest difference in color can affect the price of a diamond. For white diamonds, the less hue present, the better. D is the most valuable color grade on the D-Z scale because it is colorless. As the color grade goes down, the price can drop significantly. Fancy colors are even more valuable than color D: red, blue, and green diamonds fetch the highest prices.

Sparkling and Glamorous as Natural Diamonds

Discover the Most Suitable Cut for Your Diamond from Ashes

Not all diamonds are perfect for everyone, but everyone wants as much sparkle as their budget allows. Diamond pricing involves a very complex mechanism that revolves around four factors, also known as the 4Cs: cut, color, clarity, carat. At its heart, the carat weight has the strongest effect on a diamond's price because that's what concerns most consumers.

Besides carat weight, one other factor influencing the price of a polished diamond is the cut quality. The diamond cut has the greatest impact on the beauty and sparkle of a diamond. Even a diamond with an excellent clarity grade (no flaws or inclusions) may look like glass or dull if the cut is too shallow or too deep.

So, when deciding what kind of diamond to buy, choose the best cut grade you can afford.

By far, the most popular cut is the Round Brilliant. With its fifty-seven perfectly aligned facets, its brilliance does outshine the other shapes. Round Brilliant Cut allows light to travel through the stone with total internal reflection, which is the key to optimum sparkle and scintillation.

In fact, the cut of a diamond can cause its price to increase or decrease drastically by more than 30%. To understand how diamond prices are associated with different cuts, do not hesitate to contact our personal consultants.

The Clarity of Lab-Grown Diamonds Out of Ashes

Different kinds of diamond clarity

What Causes Inclusions

When carbon in nature is exposed to tremendous heat and pressure deep in the earth, this process results in various internal characteristics called ‘inclusions’ and external characteristics called ‘blemishes.’

Most EverDear™️ lab grown diamonds are high diamond clarity

High Diamond Clarity

Most EverDear™ lab-grown diamonds are “VS” or “VVS” grade certified by GIA, which are high in clarity. The inclusions are so slight that they are difficult to see with the naked eye or even professional grading devices.

Diamond ring with high clarity is the pure love between couples

The Pure Love

Our high diamond clarity allows you to own a cremation diamond born from your loved one's ashes without impurities. EverDear™ memorial diamonds are created to heal the hearts of those who lost their loved ones.

Cremation Diamonds Certified by GIA & IGI

GIA can certify lab created diamonds like natural diamonds

GIA Certification

GIA stands for the Gemological Institute of America, considered the world's leading gemological research institute. GIA tests diamonds and grades them based on the 4Cs: carat weight, cut, color, and clarity. A GIA diamond is certified by the world's foremost authority, an independent third-party gemological laboratory.

GIA diamonds are examined by a minimum of four highly trained diamond graders and gemologists. A more senior staff member independently grades the stone every time the diamond evaluation process proceeds to the next stage. The cost of GIA certification is $350.

IGI can also certify lab created diamonds

IGI Certification

The International Gemological Institute (IGI) was established in 1975, and now has headquarters all over the globe. The independent laboratory carefully studies colored stones and jewelry, along with lab-grown diamonds, to determine authenticity. The cost for IGI certification is $250.

Keep Your Unique Memories into the Vivid Diamond

Customize Your Unique Memorial Diamond Keepsake

EverDear™ offers customized laser inscriptions on diamond and jewelry settings and engraving

Laser inscription on diamonds to be personal

Laser Inscription on the Diamond

EverDear™ laboratory provides you with the highest quality laser inscription service. Using a microlaser beam, you can engrave your late loved one’s name or your loving words on the girdle (or middle) of the diamond, which makes your ashes-to-diamond a one-of-a-kind memorial diamond. When your diamond has a laser inscription, be especially careful when cleaning and caring for it. Avoid stripping, or polishing with a rough brush, as these methods will irritate the embedded graphite. Instead, try steam cleaning, gentle pickling, buffing with a fine brush, and ultrasonic cleaning to avoid damaging or erasing your inscription.

FAQs about the Cost of Turning Ashes into Diamonds

  • Cremation diamonds are synthetic diamonds grown in laboratories. Although diamonds from ashes are man-made, the laboratories, equipment, time, effort, and expertise put into the production are all factors that make these diamonds as valuable as they should be. The price of a cremation diamond depends on its color, cut, and size. Typically, the larger the size, the longer it takes to grow, and the more difficult it is to make, thereby making the cremation diamond more precious.

As lab-created diamonds, the resale value of cremation diamonds is not as high as that of mined diamonds. However, diamonds made out of your loved one’s ashes cannot be assessed by their monetary value. The sentimental preciousness it represents is worth the most. It gives you a lasting connection with your beloved who passed away and constantly reminds you of your loved one’s spirit and presence.

  • The price for turning ashes into memorial jewelry can mainly be divided into two parts: diamond cost and jewelry cost. The cost of turning your loved one’s ashes into a diamond depends on the color and cut of the diamond you want. The carat weight also plays a vital role in influencing the price of a lab-grown diamond.

When the carat weight of a diamond crosses a particular line, the price increase may become aggressive. For example, a 1-carat diamond can be 10-20% more expensive than a 0.9-carat diamond, even though there’s only a slight increase in carat weight.

Meanwhile, the vendor you choose to buy a diamond from is also an important factor that can largely affect the price. EverDear™ provides our customers with the most affordable price on the market and charges only $895 for a 0.1-carat yellow diamond. We will even go further by giving you a special discount if you order multiple diamonds all at once.

Every diamond from ashes made by EverDear™ is unique, and we can also create a custom jewelry setting for your one-of-a-kind memorial diamond. You can contact our consultant to discuss your ideal design and request a quote for custom-made jewelry.

  • Depending on the size and qualities you select, lab-grown diamonds can be approximately 10% to 40% less expensive than equivalent earth mined diamonds. In other words, if you choose a lab-created diamond instead of a natural diamond, you can get greater value for the same amount of money.

In fact, diamonds grown in laboratories are real diamonds that possess the same properties as natural diamonds and can even be certificated by renowned gemological institutes such as GIA and IGI. So you can indeed optimize your budget as you can choose a larger fancy-colored lab diamond rather than a smaller colorless mined diamond at the same price.

Diamonds made out of ashes are also lab-grown diamonds, but they cost slightly more than mass-produced lab-grown diamonds. This is because extracting carbon from ashes and customization add extra value to the cremation diamond. If you are interested in turning your loved one’s ashes into diamonds but are limited by a tight budget, EverDear™ will be your ideal choice as we offer the best price worldwide. Welcome to check our price list for more details.

  • In the diamond industry, naturally colored diamonds are rarer than colorless diamonds. Therefore, the prices of diamonds in various colors can be significantly different, mainly depending on the rarity.

However, when it comes to lab-grown diamonds, color has less impact on the prices. This applies to both white(colorless) and fancy colored lab-created diamonds. The price difference for colored man-made diamonds depends on how difficult it is to produce the color.

Diamonds from ashes are also lab-grown diamonds and can come in different colors: white, yellow, and blue. The various colors of cremation diamonds are created by deliberately introducing certain elements into the process of turning ashes into diamonds.

Human bodies contain nitrogen, which gives a yellow shade to the diamond made out of ashes. Laboratory experts add boron to create a blue tint for the cremation diamond during the diamond forming process. And to create a colorless memorial diamond, EverDear™ will purify the carbon extracted from ashes or hair and achieve a 99.99% purity. Thanks to our technology, EverDear™ offers the most affordable prices for turning ashes into yellow diamonds, starting at only $ 895.
